Kareena Kapoor got another chance to work with boyfriend Saif Ali Khan as we hear that she’s been signed-up to play the leading lady in Agent Vinod. Actually, there are two ladies but the other one would be a foreign actress.
Reportedly, Deepika Padukone was the first choice for the role… but after some ‘behind the scenes’ meetings, Kareena bagged it. She had already slipped the one in Imtiaz Ali’s new movie where Deepika will be playing opposite Saif.
When asked, director S Raghavan confirmed, “I haven’t yet signed her but hope to do that soon. I can give more details only by December end.”
The movie which will go on floors in March 2009, stars Khan as an Indian RAW officer. It will be an action thriller and is Khan’s home production movie. It will not be a copy of it’s earlier released namesake (a Rajshri movie in 1970s), although the director says that it’ll be based on James Bond movies.
“It will be shot on the lines of James Bond film but not on such a lavish scale. Our budget is much lesser compared to a James Bond film” he laughs and adds.
